When we started working on Copass, we did it because this is the way we wanted to work. We wanted to be able to work from anywhere and connect with the most interesting people in town, wherever we went. And that’s exactly what we’re doing right now. We’re eating our own dog food, so to speak, and we love it.
In the past month, we’ve worked from 10 different spaces, in 6 different cities (Berlin, Torino, Grenoble, Lyon, Paris and Lisbon) and 4 different countries. Building Copass while copassing around has been incredible. We discovered amazing spaces and met loads of great people, from a guy building open source meteorological stations to a group working on the optimization of energy consumption in smart cities, and even a few people who are making their own movies…
In doing this, we realized how powerful this concept of “a global community of local communities” is. It was taking us less than a day to feel at ease in a new city and start making meaningful connections. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed by great communities. We even used the “find a host” feature of Copass to book flats from other copassers while we were moving around. And on top of that, we had the chance to discover new places and new cultures.
We also have a better understanding now of what we need to improve and implement to provide copassers and cospaces with a great experience. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to give us feedback and share your ideas with us! This is probably the most precious thing you can have as a startup.
More and more copassers!
The response to Copass so far has been great. We’re still in private beta at the moment, but more than 400 people are now using Copass, 170 spaces have joined us and many future copassers are registering to the waiting list every day. We’re working hard on enhancing stability and are making improvements so we’ll be able to let more and more people in. It should happen very soon!
We can’t wait to see the world copassing. For those of you who are already a part of the community, remember that you can always invite your friends to Copass using the “invite a friend” button in the footer
Where will we be in April?
Finally, while we’ve been copassing we’ve attended some great events like Freelance day in Toolbox, and there are many more to come. Here’s what we have planned for the next month.
|7th-11th||Tilios – Tiers Lieux Francophones Open Source – St. Etienne, France|
|24th-25th||Tech Start Up Day BXL – Brussels, Belgium|
|24th-29th||Coworking Spain Conference – Madrid, Spain|
Be sure to say hello if you’re nearby! The internet is awesome, but meeting people in real life is what we like most. As perhaps you’ve already guessed
